SI COMMUNITY

Our world has become increasingly interdependent and various events impact upon and emanate from the Middle East whether this be: financial crises, failed states, cyber-security, terrorism, unemployment and poverty, educational deficits, unsustainable energy demands, water management, climate change, and many more. These problems can only be addressed through global cooperation and private-public sector partnership.

To promote cooperation across a range of global humanitarian concerns, SI will host policy forums with leading representatives from the business and policy establishments to promote creative and integrated solutions. At the same time the SI Community will explore how the results from the synergies can be incorporated in the core business.

SI Community is ahead of the curve and provides a strategic dialogue and network at policy forums between leaders from the worlds of business, policy and civil society. It is led by thought leaders from the private and public sectors that come together for interdisciplinary brainstorming to identify risk and opportunities in the Middle East.

  •  SI Community will focus on solutions to Middle East problems

  •  SI Community is a multi-stakeholder initiative

  •  SI Community seeks long-term perspectives

However, visions are not enough; they need to be embodied by concrete action plans policies, business strategies, civil initiatives and research agenda. These action plans should emerge as the outcome of a dialogue among leading academics, businesspeople, policy-makers and representatives of civil society.

Policy Forums and Workshops

In a novel setting, SI panel discussions and workshops include a balanced blend of corporations, government ministers, representatives of NGO’s, multilateral bodies and journalists. This results in broader attention being offered to pressing issues that reflect the often complementary and at times disparate objectives of each of these sectors respectively. Furthermore, the mixing of these sectors lead to creative solutions and can enable issues and policies to be advanced with greater pace and to greater effect.
