SI PHILANTHROPIC & HUMANITARIAN IDEALS

The unique methodology SI offers in security and risk analysis of the region has led to identifying the need to close the gap between public and private sector, secure investments and serve as a stabilising force by fostering peace and making a humanitarian impact. Ultimately corporate and social responsibility and financial interests are not mutually exclusive, but complementary.
Barak Seener sums up the SI CSR commitment :
"In a globalised, digital and ever-more interconnected age, our capacities as individuals and countries have increased exponentially to make a difference that is far reaching and widely felt. We are witnessing either spill-over effects from country to country making borders redundant, or cross-societal organisations underscored by the enhanced power of the individual making traditional governmental structures an increasing anachronism. Old definitions such as 'security' and 'humanitarian' have rapidly become antiquated and supplanted by broader encompassing meanings. Notions of security have evolved from originally meaning guns and tanks, and is now extending to the cyber realm increased economic activity. There is increased recognition that usage of guns impacts on global economic activity and vice-versa. 'Humanitarian' does not anymore mean traditional aid and natural disaster, but also sustainability, growth of GDP, promoting human rights, stopping genocide, increasing prospects in turn enhancing people's right to work. We have reached a point in history where 'security' and 'humanitarian' concerns are synonymous and interchangeable. In an age where the individual has become an entity whose impact is on a macro scale, never before in history has each and every person been emancipated to make a difference as they can today!"
